These units are basically a bigger, tougher version of the Tech 1 torpedo launchers, and should be used accordingly. The tech 2 torpedo launcher is usually outranged by tech 2 destroyers and cruisers. However, if a destroyer or cruiser comes into range, they will be very quickly destroyed. Tech 1 and Tech 2 Submarines cannot out-range the tech 2 torpedo launcher, and will be utterly destroyed should they try to attack it. Only the Seraphim tech 3 sub hunter and UEF experimental Aircraft Carrier/Submarine can outrange the tech 2 torpedo launchers.
The four Tech 2 Torpedo Launchers are the UEF Tsunami, the Cybran Nanite Torpedo Array, the Aeon Wave Break and the Seraphim Uosthu. These all cost the same, but their overall effectiveness differs. The UEF Tsunami and the Aeon Wave Break are equivalent. The Seraphim Uosthu has less health, but makes up for it with an effective anti-torpedo system. Finally, the Cybran Nanite Torpedo Array is substantially more effective than all other tech 2 torpedo launchers, at 188 DPS to the others' 150. While this was changed in Forged Alliance, the Cybran Nanite Torpedo Array was defined as a tech 2 heavy torpedo launcher, to stress its overall superiority.
