T2 Air Transports are stronger, better armored, carry more troops, and are all armed with a rapid fire weapon of some sort.
All T2 Air Transports possess an anti-air gun that makes them somewhat effective at defending themselves from small groups of T1 Interceptors, but are generally inadequate against heavier threats like T2 Gunships, T2 Fighter-Bombers, or T3 Air Superiority Fighters. The Cybran, UEF and Seraphim transports also have some ground attack capability, though these capabilities should primarily be used for self defense. All T2 Air Transports serve as viable Ghetto Gunships, though the availability of T2 Gunships at that point reduce their usefulness in that role. They all possess the same price, build time, fuel capacity, vision radius, and speed. Transport and self-defensive capabilities vary between factions, however, and some T2 transports are clearly better than others. The UEF's Starlifter has the greatest ground attack capabilities and highest health rating. The Seraphim's Vishala has the best transport capabilities and average capabilities otherwise. The Cybran's Dragon Fly has the lowest capacity and the worst weaponry, making it easily the least powerful. The Aeon Aluminar has good anti-air ability but no anti-ground capability, but as it possesses 4 anti-air weapons it can fire from multiple angles and is perhaps the best at defending itself from interception by T1 fighters, despite its less than stellar DPS. Almost all factions will rely on T2 Air Transports if they want to move land units in the mid to later stages of the game, although the UEF have access to a T3 transport in Forged Alliance that makes their T2 largely obsolete. The most important feature of all T2 transports is that they have much better survivability than their T1 counterparts, and are able to sustain some noticeable damage before being taken down, although they are still fairly fragile.
Version History[]
In 3603 they were buffed with more health and lower costs as well.
