Monkeylord cannon escape ACU meltdown.... This is pretty obvious. There are only few units that can... not like it matters, tho, because the whole point of supreme commander is the cause the enemy ACU to meltdown... if a ML destroys an ACU it's game over, whoo hoo, the ML won//// who cares if the ML was hit by the meltdown? It only does 4k damage anyways... the ML has 65k. The inability to escape a commander meltdown is pointless information that merely adds clutter to this and any other articles. The only unit that should ever be concerned about escaping ACU explosions is the ACU, that's it. FunkOff 13:15, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Okay, fair play. As you (might) know I only have the demo ^^' I just thought that it might be an issue in games with more than two players, or if your Monkeylord intercepts the enemy commander outside the enemy base in a game in which commander death does not result in failure, as the ML is sufficiently expensive that its loss is nontrivial, and the owner may wish to continue to deploy it against other bases or opponents. --Mike

Well, on that note, consider that ACU meltdowns only do 4k damage, not the 70k they do in the demo. Also, the new patch makes the ACU meltdown instant... making the only units capable of avoiding an ACU meltdown are those that killed the ACU from outside the blast radius in the first place. As it stands, the only XP that needs to worry about ACU explosions is the CZAR because of it's low HP... but they again CZARs usually do the killing blow with aircrash anyways.... again, I stress that this is not something that needs to be considered... T3 pgens and massfabs do more meltdown damage than ACUs FunkOff 20:57, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Which is better[]

Megalith or Monkeylord? The monkeylord has an aa gun, torpedo defences a cannon lazer, and a support gun, but it lacks stronger power. The magalith has defences for ground units only and has a slow rate of fire. - Lisle202 04:52, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

they have different uses, the monkeylord is good for mowing down bunches of t2 or t3 units, the megalith is better for fighting from the back and good at ships.--Ericwyesk 06:53, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
They aren't the same price either. While it is generally accepted that a single Megalith is better than a Monkeylord, 3 Monkeylords are better than a Megalith.
As Ericwyesk said, they have different uses. Monkeylords have to get close and dirty to get usefull, while Megaliths can siege bases from a distance, but lacks in pure, raw, firepower. What you usually want to do is build 3 Monkeylords, assist them with a bunch of bricks, and smash the opposing base. If the opposing base is too well defended, add a Megalith to your army, and have it fire at the base from a distance, while the Monkeylords/bricks, escort/defend your megalith.
Short answer, though- Monkeylord is better. Arcane Azmadi 14:15, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Two similar pictures[]

In the pictures section at the bottom of the page the last two pics are almost identical, do we really need both?OMEGATRON 10:40, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

Wait a minute, that second picture is from Supreme Commander 2!OMEGATRON 14:49, October 30, 2010 (UTC)
A SupCom 2 unit image doesn't really belong on this page unless it's in a section that just mentions the existence of the unit in SupCom2. Would you please remove the inappropriate image, OMEGATRON? ----TaviRider 14:54, October 30, 2010 (UTC)
Gladly (yeah, I'm one of the people who doesn't really like SupCom2)OMEGATRON 08:20, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
