The UEF T2 Amphibious Tank, nicknamed the Riptide, is a UEF unit. This is a direct fire unit.

The Riptide is an Amphibious Tank that is both inexpensive and very capable--one of the best amphibious units in the game. It has decent HP and is armed with a Hells Fury Riot Gun. This unit also Hovers.

The Riptide is incredibly useful on maps with water being one of the fastest and fiercest Amphibious units on the battlefield. In pairs it can make quick work of T1 units, including Point Defences. In small groups it can clear out other defenses to clear out an LZ, or it can be used to safely and effectively eliminate torpedo launchers as it is immune to torpedoes, clearing the way for standard ships. It does, however, have difficulty moving when firing or firing at targets that are moving because its turret is locked into its chassis. But, since it is a hovering unit, it can turn quickly. Also, its high ROF gives it a high chance of hitting a target, and since its shots do a lot of damage, crippling it. Even on maps without water, the Riptide is an excellent unit for dealing with swarms of T1 units.

Riptides can be useful in naval battles due to their status as hover units, making them immune to torpedos. Packs of Riptides are very effective at removing low-HP ships such as Shards or T2 Cruisers while avoiding the fire of their common escorts, submarines- if they can catch them. Unfortunately, the Riptide still moves at the speed of a land unit (albeit quite a fast land unit), making it quite possible for most naval units to evade it with ease if it is deployed alone. Riptides are also countered with ease by enemy Destroyers, which have too much HP and too high a DPS for them to destroy without taking severe casualties.

Riptides can safely remove torpedo launchers.
