My pleasure! I've been hunting for a SupCom wiki and this looks very nice to start :) I hope to have a lot of useful stuff to add, and thanks for the welcome ;)

[edit] Unit capability field addition

As it appears you are the "chief" contributor to that part, I've been "non-group-social" and ask in your own page: I discovered that our unit descriptions have no "slot" to describe the transport capability of the unit. Apart from the "obvious" Transport air units, and the aircraft carriers there are more units with some capability. I still dont know if this is mass limited or a simple count, but the capacity varies (at least) with the Tech level of the cargo. So there should be a slot for the units to state: Transport capacity=xxx, where xxx will be the number of T1/T2/T3 units (Example: The Cyberan SkyHook T1 Light Air it is 6 T1 units or 2 T2 units or 1 T3 unit, ie "6/2/1". Dont know how they combine) It's a similar problem as you highlight with the rate-of-fire in TraviRider's page. -- Msquare 20:54, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey Msquare, there's a few bits of information that needs to be exported on the next re-export. TaviRider is looking into it. I think we need some experimentation to verify that the slot capacity is by Tech level. However, once we find out, rest assured, we will change the unitbox to reflect the new information. --FngKestrel 21:14, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Well, as I've understood it (reverse engieered it?) all you two have to do is to generate extra fields (like "Transport Capacity") for all units and a null value. Others (like me) can edit the appropiate template file (as you've seem to have one distinct template for every unit, no doubt a workaround for something else) and the render/parse automagically displays it (and hides it when unedited zero). The template pages (the ones with the actual unit data) are generated from a script. The idea is that every time GPG releases a new version, which often changes unit abilities, I can re-run the script. If users start editing the templates manually, those edits would be overwritten the next time I run the script. The transport capability is in the blueprints, but it was difficult to interpret the values, so I didn't include in in the previous export. It is more complicated than just a unit capacity. Do you know of documentation of this ability? If so, I can add the right parts to the script and to Template:unitbox-top to provide accurate transport abilities. --TaviRider 23:32, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
Oh. No. Carry on. Msquare 06:31, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Basic strategy section?

What about a section on basic strategies? Such as what is air superiority and how to attain it, what units are better suited for the job etc.? Just thinking about it a little I can list stuff like SEAD strikes, ground support, airborne assault, amphibious assault, blitzkrieg, panzerkiel formation, logistical strike, sea lane denial... (somebody stop me!!!) - Caleb367 (I always forget to log in, sorry :P )

By all means, absolutely! Start working on the pages and we'll carve out a space for them. --FngKestrel 22:03, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Caleb, we slapped a Strategy section on the Main Page. Start those pages!  ;) --FngKestrel 00:07, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
I've put up a short (?) list of strategies. Given that I can get a little, uh, long winded about it, I think it'd be better to put up at least a separate subpage for every area, a page for Land strategy, one for Air and another for Naval. In the meantime, I'll start cranking out stuff on txt! --Caleb367 10:37, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
I saw the list of strategies, and as a player I'm looking forward to the descriptions of the individual strategies. I would suggest that you make each strategy a separate page, and put [[Category:Strategy]] at the bottom of each one. That way other articles can link to specific strategies easily, and the category will group all of them so people can browse all strategy articles. --TaviRider 17:03, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Screenshots

I will indeed need help with the screenshots - I can only do Cybran units as I only have the demo (and that's all I'm likely to have for at least a month :( ) I was thinking of making an article about how to take good screenshots? (It sounds obvious but the interface is a bit clunky for this particular task) --3DS Mike

I vote yes on the article - I've been having trouble making FRAPS work, can't for the life of me remember how to turn screenshot mode on, and i'm pretty sure i'm messing big somewhere. So i guess it would also be nice to put on the wiki for everyone to use, other than fixing my own selfish needs. :D--Caleb367 12:04, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

I have done as suggested and created a list of the pages I've illustrated on User:3DS_Mike so people with the full version can maybe do the same for UEF and Aeon units... plus the Cybran units I couldn't / didn't bother to do myself. I will write a page on taking good screenshots when it's not the middle of a beautifully sunny day. Pisseggs, forgot to sign. I've got to start using Preview more --3DS Mike

3DS Mike, there's a shortcut for signing. Just put --~~~~ at the end of your post and it will add a signature, like this: --TaviRider 13:33, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image conversion

There's a discussion at Forum:Add pictures about image formats. Can you chime in there? Thanks, --TaviRider 05:07, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Muzzle velocity diagram

Any interest in making a diagram for muzzle velocity, as described in the talk page? --TaviRider 04:37, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

You just want 4 parabolas? --FngKestrel 17:46, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
